Winter resorts in Bulgaria

BOROVETS

Borovets is located at 1300 m above sea level on the northern slopes of the Rila Mountain. This is the nearest resort to Sofia - only 70 km. The ski seasone usually lasts from the middle of December to April. The avarage temperature in January is 4.8 C. There are 3 ski zones: Yastrebets Ski Center; Sitnyakovo Ski Center; Markudzhik Ski Center. Borovets offers more than 50 hotels, ski lifts, ski school, children's snow park and adventure center.

 

 

BANSKO

150 km away from Sofia, Bansko is situated at the foot of the Pirin Mountains, at an altitude of 936 m. Due to its rich cultural and historical heritage, Bansko acquired the status of a unique town of international importance, due to its 200 preserved authentic houses from the National Revival Era, 32 architectural sites, three active churches and museums. Bansko is the largest Bulgarian mountain resort and one of the most attractive ski centres and tourist sites.

 

 

PAMPOROVO

Pamporovo is located in the mids of the Rhodopes Mountain, 1700 m above sea level, 230 km from Sofia. Visitors have a multitude of hotels and guesthouses, fun park, velopark, ski school children's ski zone at their disposal. Interesting tourist destinations in the region include the Shiroka Laka Architectural, Folklore and Ethnographic Reserve, Orpheus rocks, the planetarium in Smolyan and the television tower on the Snezhanka peak - 1926 m above sea level.
